President Joe Hanni Receives 2022 Specialty Food Association Leadership Award

Congratulations to PS Seasoning President Joe Hanni on being awarded a Specialty Food Association 2022 Leadership Award in Citizenship. The annual awards honor influential and innovative entrepreneurs who are transforming the specialty food industry.

Over the past ten years, Joe Hanni has driven immense growth as President of PS Seasoning. While his leadership has taken PS from a small retail store to one of the fastest growing seasoning companies in the US, Hanni’s dedication to the industry is only matched by his passion for giving back.

Actively involved in several local & nationwide givebacks, PS Seasoning donates over 100,000 meals annually to fighting global hunger in partnership with The Outreach, a non-profit organization. After joining forces in 2017, PS has since donated & packaged 470,000 meals that are distributed to national food pantries. In the midst of the pandemic, Hanni donated 20,000 soup, pancake and oatmeal mixes to Feeding America in support of those impacted by COVID-19.

In addition to hunger relief efforts, Hanni is also well known in his community as an avid philanthropist. A former Fire Department volunteer, Hanni has provided life-saving equipment to first responders throughout the community. Other significant contributions were made towards education, including funds for a new community athletic complex and University of Wisconsin Meat Sciences expansion. In 2021, Hanni provided funds for a community park renovation, including a state-of-the-art playground and facility upgrades, donated in honor of Ken Hanni, his late father & co-founder of PS Seasoning.

The Leadership Award will be presented at the 2022 Specialty Food Association Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.

“The Specialty Food Association is proud to be back in person at the awards celebration this year to honor the pioneers, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers that have laid the groundwork for today’s healthy $175 billion specialty food industry,” said Laura Lozada, vice president of membership for the Specialty Food Association. “Without these dedicated individuals driving our industry forward, we wouldn’t be where we are today, celebrating 70 amazing years of the Specialty Food Association, helping to champion, nurture and connect the specialty food industry every day.”
