Its that time of year again! Where the temperature drops, the leaves start to fall, and the food gets sweeter! Apple Butter Ribs are the fall must make!
Ingredients
- 2 Rack – Pork Back Ribs

4 T– Butter, melted
-
½ C – Apple Pie Rub
-
2 C – Apple Butter (See Recipe)

½ Stick - Butter
Directions
- Preheat smoker to 250 degrees.
- Remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the ribs and then rub it into the meat.
- Season the ribs generously with Apple Pie rub and allow to rest for 20 minutes at room temp to adhere the seasoning.
- Place the ribs on the smoker and cook for 3 hours
- Lay down a large piece of heavy-duty foil. Spread ¼ Cup of Apple butter in the middle of the foil and spread it out to the size of a rack of ribs. Place a few tabs of butter down as well.
- Place the ribs, meat down onto the foil.
- Spread another ¼ cup of apple butter on the underside of the ribs followed by more butter.
- Wrap up the ribs securely with the foil and place back on the smoker.
- Smoke for an additional 1 – 2 hours until the meat is tender to your liking.
- Allow the ribs to rest for 10 minutes before opening.
- Baste with a little more apple butter if desired and enjoy!
