Directions
In a sauce pot, bring the apple cider to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer. Reduce until you are left with one cup of cider reduction. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before mixing with wet ingredients in step 3.
Combine the dry ingredients: Flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, apple pie rub.
Combine sugars and wet ingredients: Milk, eggs, both sugars, vanilla, melted butter and cider reduction.
Mix the wet ingredients into the dry and stir/whisk until well combined.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray a donut pan with cooking spray and fill the spaces with batter ½ way full.
Place in the oven and cook for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean.
Remove from the oven and rest for 3 minutes before turning them out onto a cooling rack.
While the donuts cool, combine sugar, cinnamon and apple pie rub for the topping.
Dip both side of the donut into the melted butter before tossing them in the sugar mixture.
Enjoy warm!
