Iconic chicken wings anyone? The popular Arnold Palmer, half tea, half lemonade drink smashes with our citrusy lemon pepper and these meaty wings are sweet, sticky and finger licking good!
Ingredients
-
3 Lb Wings
-
1/2 Gallon Lemonade
-
1/2 Gallon Iced Tea- Unsweetened
-
1/4 C Olive Oil
-
2 T Citrus Smash Lemon Pepper
-
1/2 C Sugar
-
Cornstarch Slurry
Directions
Place the wings in a large bowl and pour in 1 quart each of lemonade and iced tea.
Place in the fridge for 12-18 hours to brine.
Preheat smoker to 300 degrees.
Remove the wings from the brine and rinse well with cold water.
Pat the wings dry with paper towel.
Toss with wings with the olive oil and Citrus Smash.
Combine the remaining lemonade and iced tea in a sauce pot. Place over medium high heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to simmer and add sugar. Stir and reduce to ¼.
Adjust the thickness of the sauce by slowly whisking in cornstarch slurry. (about ¼ cup total) The sauce should resemble a glaze that will stick to the wings.
Place on the smoker for 45-50 minutes. Once the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees, and the skin is crispy to your liking, they wings are done.
Toss the wings in the sauce, and enjoy!
