Taking your sausage game to a "knock your socks off" level! This Bourbon Barrel Hasselback Summer Sausage is partially sliced and stuffed with cheese, baked and topped with bourbon sauce. A fun way to do sausage that will become a quick party favorite!
Ingredients

1 - 12 Oz Summer Sausage
-
6 Oz Sharp Cheddar - Sliced 2 " Squares

4 Oz Bourbon Barrel BBQ Sauce
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Once the casing is removed from the sausage, place two chop sticks on either side of the meat on a cutting board running down the long side. This will be a guide so you don’t cut all the way through the sausage when making your cuts.
Slice the sausage every 1/8th inch until you reach the end.
Baste with Bourbon Barrel BBQ Sauce and place in a baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
Baste and rotate the sausage and cook for another 15 minutes.
Remove from oven. Using a tongs or fork to separate the slices, insert a slice of cheddar between each slice.
Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is just melted.
Serve with your favorite accompaniments. (crackers, caramelized onions, etc…)
