Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup
No tomato soup is complete without grilled cheese. That's why we combined our favorite duo into one delicious soup mix. This soup is filled with rich tomato, basil, creamy buttermilk and cheddar cheese for a thick and hearty soup that will taste like you spent all day cooking it. Top with mini grilled cheese croutons and take this comfort food to the next level.
Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup

Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup Mix |
7 1/2 cups | Milk |
1 can | Diced or Crushed Tomatoes |
1/2 cup | Cheddar Cheese, Shredded |
4 slices | White Bread |
3 T | Butter, divided |
2-4 slices | Cheddar Cheese |
Instructions:
- Add contents of bag into soup pot on stove-top with milk and tomatoes.
(Optional: add ½ cup shredded cheese.)
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently. Cover and turn to warm while preparing the grilled cheese.
- Preheat skillet over medium heat. Generously butter one side of a slice of bread. Place bread butter-side-down onto skillet bottom and add 1 slice of cheese. Butter a second slice of bread on one side and place butter-side-up on top of sandwich. Grill until lightly browned and flip over; continue grilling until cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining 2 slices of bread, butter and slice of cheese.
- Cut grilled cheese into 1-2" squares, skewer and serve with each bowl of tomato soup.
