Ingredients
-
2 Lb Chicken Thighs (Boneless Skinless)
-
2 C Flour
-
2 T Honky Tonk Hot Chicken Rub
-
1 C Buttermilk
-
1 C Honky Tonk Nashville Hot Sauce
-
4 C Waffle Mix
Directions
Preheat Deep fryer to 325 degrees.
Trim excess fat from chicken thighs and cut them into 3oz pieces. (Sized appropriately for a slider)
Place the chicken pieces in the buttermilk to marinate.
Combine the Honky Tonk Hot Chicken rub and the flour, mix well.
Preheat the waffle iron as well.
To bread the chicken, one at a time, remove the chicken from the buttermilk and roll in flour. Cover well and pack the flour into the meat. Then place the chicken back in the buttermilk to wet, and then back into the flour for double breading.
Place the breaded chicken in the deep fryer and cook for 5-8 minutes. Once the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees, remove from the fryer and place on a paper towel lined plate to rest.
Make the waffles and cut the pieces into 4.
Heat the Honky Tonk Hot Chicken sauce in a small saucepan over medium low heat.
Dunk the chicken in the hot sauce and then place on a piece of waffle.
Drizzle with honey and top the slider with a another waffle.
