Ingredients
- 3 LB – Chicken Wings, drums and flats
- 3 Bottles – Root Beer

4 T – Chicken & Waffle Wing Rub

½ C – Ketchup
-
¼ C – Yellow Mustard
-
1 ½ T – Worcestershire Sauce
Directions
- Place the wings in a brine bag and pour in 2 bottles of root beer.
- Brine in the fridge for 4 hours.
- Strain the liquid into a saucepan.
- Preheat smoker or grill to 350 degrees, set up for indirect heat.
- Add the 3rd bottle of root beer to the sauce pot and place over medium/low heat.
- Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to maintain a low simmer.
- Reduce by ½.
- Add in the ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
Reduce again by ½. This is your root beer BBQ sauce.
- While the sauce is reducing, cook the wings.
- Season the wings generously with Chicken & Waffle wing rub and then place over indirect heat on the grill.
- Cook for 45-60 minutes, turning occasionally, for even cooking until they are cooked to your liking.
- Toss the wings in the root beer BBQ sauce and enjoy!
