The Works Burger Dog is an all-American treat perfect for your Fourth of July cookout, featuring ground beef seasoned with The Works, wrapped around string cheese, encased in bacon, and grilled to perfection, all served in a hot dog bun. This delicious combo of classic flavors will be the highlight of your summer celebration.
Ingredients
- 2 LB – Ground Beef
- 8 Pieces – Smoked String Cheese
- 16 Slice – Bacon, not thick cut

2 TB – The Works Burger Blend
- 8 – Hot Dog Buns
- Ketchup, mustard and pickles for topping
Directions
- Portion the ground beef into 8, 4oz portions.
- Form a portion of meat into a rectangular patty, about 5” X 3”.
- Season the patty with The Works Burger Blend.
- Place a piece of string cheese in the patty and wrap the meat around the cheese, sealing all seams.
- Repeat with the remaining meat and cheese.
- Wrap each burger-dog with 2 slices of bacon.
- Preheat grill to 375 degrees, set up for indirect cooking.
- Place the burger-dogs over indirect heat and cook for 30-45 minutes until the bacon is well rendered. Place over direct heat for 2-3 minutes to crisp up.
- Place the grilled burger-dogs in hot dog buns and add your favorite burger toppings.
- Enjoy!
