The Grate-est Mac 'n Cheese
Difficulty: Easy
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients: |
|
8 oz. | Macaroni, cooked al dente |
1/2 cup | Panko Breadcrumbs |
2 T | Grate State - Cheesy Blend |
1 cup | Parmesan, grated |
4 T | Butter, divided |
1 1/2 T | Flour |
1 2/3 cups | Milk |
1 cup | Cheddar Cheese, grated |
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small mixing bowl, mix together panko, 1/2 T Grate State, and parmesan. Melt 2 T of butter and stir into mixture until combined. Set aside.
-
Place a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add remaining butter to melt, then whisk in flour. Continue to whisk for 2 minutes to cook flour, but do not brown.
-
Remove pan from heat and whisk in milk. Return pan to heat and continue whisking until milk thickens. Sauce should coat the back of a spoon. Whisk in remaining Grate State, cheeses, then pasta.
-
Transfer mixture to an 8 x 8 glass baking dish and top with breadcrumbs. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbly around sides and breadcrumbs are golden brown. Cool 10 minutes, then serve.
